Ponza is the biggest and the more representative of the Ponziane Islands, this archipelago comprehends six islands: Gravi, Zannone, Palmarola, Ventotene, Santo Stefano and Ponza. It is situated in the Gaeta's Gulf, 33 kilometres South of Capo Circeo, in the provincial administration of Latina.

Connections and distances
The principals harbours which are connected with the island are: Terracina (51 KM) and Formia (93 km) with a service of hydrofoil (about 1h 10') or with ferry boat (about 2h 30'). From Anzio (119 km) by hydrofoil in high season and fast car boat from San Felice al Circeo (70 km), in low and high season. In July and August there are connections from Fiumicino and Naples too (200km). The train stations linked to the harbour are: Rome, Naples, Formia, Terracina, Anzio and Fiumicino.

Motorway A2 Rome-Naples, to reach the Formia's harbour, exit “Cassino”, then 30 km on the provincial road exit “Formia”; or 60 km exit “Terracina”, and 70 km exit “Circeo”.
